Sunday Fun Day

It has been HOT HOT HOT lately! It seems like as soon as I wish the summer was here, I wish it would go away! Today we decided to beat the heat and head to Trousdell Pool. We took the kids last summer when Karsyn was only 2 months old and Kaden had a blast playing in the kiddy area so we thought he would love it again this year. He was a little hesitent at first and was telling us he didn't want to go to the pool. Karsyn on the other hand was rearing to go. We had a hard time holding her back. She spalshed right into the water. As soon as Kaden saw her doing that he came in right behind her. Last year when we took them, Kaden's favorite thing was going down the slide. This year, we could not pay him to go down it. Karsyn was complete opposite. We could not keep her off the slide. She even kept up with the big boys/girls who were pushing and shoving their ways to go down the slide. Kaden enjoyed the waterfalls and the water jets that the water would come up from on the ground. His favorite thing was the mushroom with the water falling down on the sides.

After about 40 minutes maybe an hour the lifegaurds would blow the whistle for everyone to get out and take a 10 minute break. I thought for sure this was going to be a nightmare trying to get both of the kids out of the pool and actually keeping them out of the pool. We brought snacks and drinks for them to keep them occupied during our time outs. Kaden sat and ate his Mike and Ike candies and drank his gatorade. Karsyn sat and ate her puffs and drank her water. When the lifegaurd blew the whistle for everyone to come back in the water, Kaden was the first one up. Karsyn still wanted to eat. Thats my little piggy!

We wanted to take Karsyn into the lap pool and let her float in her ladybug float but the lifegaurd told us that we were not allowed to bring floats from home to put in the pool. If we wanted to get a lifejacket for her we could get one from the office. I thought that was a little silly. The lifejacket would probably swallow her up and she is still a little young to know to kick her legs in order to stay up right. Wearing the lifejacket would just tip her backwards onto her back and I knew she would not like that. She was starting to get a little fussy at this point and I could see her getting a little red. We decided to go ahead and change the kids and get packed up. Kaden didn't want to leave and wanted to still play in the water. We could tell he was getting tired though. We told him we would go get a snowball at Big Easy Snowballs but he said he didn't want one. He said he wanted his Mike and Ike candy. So we told him he could eat them when we got to the car and he agreed.

When we got home the kids were both exhausted and took a pretty good nap. By the time they woke up it was time to get ready to go over to my in laws for Sunday dinner.

Tomorrow we start a new week. I am looking forward to hanging out with the kids but I just wish my hubby didn't have to go back to work. The weekends just are not long enough!

Here are some pictures from our day at the pool.
