Friday morning my dad was driving down Mahan and out of nowhere the traffic came to a complete stop. There was a wreck a few cars up that happened just 10 second before he got to there. Traffic wasn't moving at all and so he pulled his car off the side of the road and dialed 911. He figured that someone already had but it wouldn't hurt to call again. He saw the driver of the pick up truck that was involved in the wreck get out and start picking up truck parts off of the road but in the few minutes that he was looking, he not once say anyone go over to the other car to check on the person that was in it. The wreck was a two car wreck and the truck was in the middle of the two lanes and the car had run off the road into the ditch. My dad decided to run up to the wreck sight and check on the person in the car. He said as he was approaching the car another guy got out of his car to come check on the person two. When they got to the car they saw that the air bag had deployed on the drivers side and the women who was in the car was slumped over and she was drooling and he eyes were slightly rolled back into her head. The man who was with my dad leaned into the window to check for a pulse on the lady and my dad went and got into the passenger side of her car. She had a pulse and the guy said he could feel her breathing slowly. She started to come to and when she did, my dad said she tried to fight them to get out of the car. My dad and the guy kept telling her to calm down and that she didn't need to move. They were worried that she may have some neck or back injuries. The lady kept telling my dad she couldn't breath. He was telling her that she was breathing and that she was going to be okay. After a few minutes the paramedics arrived.
The story was in the news about the wreck but it didn't mention or update on how the lady was doing. It just said that injuries were sustained. I am so glad that my dad and that guy got out of their cars to check on this poor lady.. If it had not been for them keeping her calm and in her car she may have hurt herself even more. It was brave of them to go and sit with her and tell her she was okay. I know that I would want someone to do that for me or my family members. Hopefully she didn't have serious injuries and was able to leave the hospital yesterday or even today. I am very proud of my dad!
